  How many Jehovah's witnesses are there now?

  i've been asked that question, and since i've been out of it for years (and away from this forum for some time) i have no idea.

  CNN , Headline News , and 1914 , hhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmm !!!!!!!!!!

  saw a great little piece on headline news or cnn the other night, they showed a memorial celebration of the 90th year of world war one.

  now think about this, how many veterans do you think attended from world war one ???????.

  the one veteran who layed down a wreath, was 108, and he talked a little, the best he could, and thanking his fellow war heroes.. this piece really hit home with me, because, didn't the watchtower once say, the generation of 1914 will not pass away, remember the early teaching, "they would have to be able to understand the things going on", "first started with 15 years olds, then ten year old, then can't be babies born, then can be babies born.

  It was the result of German industrialists attempts to garner greater share of African and Asian colonies and their raw materials and endless cheap labor.

  I disagree. Remember, history is written by the victors.

  Germany was sucked into WW1 through treaties, as was the British empire. The war propaganda machine portrayed Germany as the plotters and perpetrators of the war, but this was not true. This was the same propaganda machine that reported that German soldiers were chopping off the hands of boys in Belgium so they couldn't fight. It's the same propaganda machine that reported German soldiers throwing babies in the air and spearing them with their bayonets. None of this was true.

  The true roots of WW1 go back to 1870 and involve the never ending quest for British world dominance. I won't go into it further here, since I seldom come to this site, and won't be around to argue the point. The information is out there if you do some research.

  Sorry to rain on the parade, but I don't see the importance of achieving these levels. When I see people with thousands of posts, I wonder if they ever get outside and enjoy the fresh air. Do they have jobs? Do their children know them?

  When I see how many posts I have, I kick myself in the ass and wonder why I'm still here.

  Like I said, defining "terrorism" depends on your point of view.

  I agree.

  And if the French weren't, why are the Iraqis who just blew up the building considered terrorists?

  That is the million dollar question, and the whole point of this post. The US media is so quick to throw a "terrorist" label on anything that goes against US interests.

  If they were trying to defend their home country how could anything they did be considered terrorism?

  And if the Iraqi people are trying to oust their invaders, how can that be considered terrorism?

  If this were not true, then the old 60's comedy "Hogan's Heros" better be renamed "Hogan's Terrorists"

  i have no interest in getting involved in that post, but this is an interesting question.

  Thank you for admitting that. I think Yeru was guilty of the above when he made this original inquiry. But that's okay, because what kind of soldier would he be if he was not dedicated to his work? He has since clarified his position (not that I necessarily agree with his revised statement).

  As far as the long debate on whether the atomic bombs ended the war, who cares? The point was that innocent people were intentionally killed by the USA. It happened. The British intentionally killed innocent people. Germany intentionally killed innocent people. All countries do, it's part of warfare.

  I started this post, I would like to end it here.

  what is the stupidest thing a jw ever told you?

  we all know that they say a lot of stupid things, but what really topped the cake?.

  for me, it was an elder telling me i was progressing really well when my meeting attendance was down and my field service hours were slipping.
